Buying a place in Australia?

Know what is wrong before you sign.

Drop in the contract and the vendor's papers. Usually a minute or two later you get a plain report on easements, drains, permits, building limits, fees and dodgy clauses, plus what the papers leave out.

How it works

  1. 1. Put the papers in. The contract, the section 32 / Form 1 / Form 2 or whatever your state uses, and any certificates.
  2. 2. Usually a minute or two. We work out the state from the papers themselves and check them against that state's rules only.
  3. 3. The report. Eight sections, every finding tagged major, minor, note or clear, with the exact words and what to ask.
